24 Oct Meet the Trainer: William Wylie
For as long as I can remember, I have loved football. I was always the fastest player in the team – I was built to run fast but that also meant I was the skinny ripped guy!
I was able to jump incredibly high and while this may be considered an advantage, it worked against me one November when I jumped for a header and landed square on my ankle, leaving me out for the remainder of the season. When I experienced a similar injury on the same ankle, the following November, I decided football was no longer for me.
At 21, I was working in finance, in an office-based job and earning decent money – it was a great job but unfortunately not the job for me. It wasn’t what I wanted to do and I had always loved training so I decided to make a career out of it by starting a personal training course.
When I was fully qualified, I was employed by a well-known fitness chain, but as all the other personal trainers were huge and I still had a runner’s physique, I felt I was being overlooked for quite some time. I decided to put cardio on the back burner and started weight training to get myself noticed, adding 24lbs of muscle to my frame in my first year of training.
I now specialise in changing peoples’ body composition and whether the client wants to reduce body fat, increase muscle mass, or both, I have dedicated my career to helping people achieve these goals as fast and effectively as possible.
I have also trained bodybuilders who have competed on various bodybuilding federations, as well as training winning bikini competitors at national level.
My main client base, however, are city centre workers, wanting to change their physiques and feel better about themselves.
If you would like more information regarding personal training, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – I would be more than happy to help!
