3 tips to keep your steps up when working from home

Tip #1 – Set a step target for the day. 10,000 steps is a good start – so aim for this daily and you’ll be off to a flying start! If you have a Fitbit/Garmin watch etc then you can easily track your step count… but if not don’t stress – roughly speaking 10,000 steps equals 5 miles.

Tip #2 – Set times to get steps in. If you work a busy/stressful job it can be easy to lose track of time. Therefore, setting times during the day to get your steps in can keep you on track. For example, a small walk before work, one at lunch and one before you have your dinner. 

Tip #3 – Find an exercise video to follow on Youtube or Social media… okay so this technically isn’t steps. However, getting off your bum and moving will still be beneficial! 

When I was stuck at home during lockdown I loved doing yoga videos from home, but there are so many different ones out there you can try… Just remember to consider your downstairs neighbours if you’re doing an online Zumba class!

And a final note from me, don’t be too hard on yourself. We’re living in unprecedented times where uncertainty is rife. You’ll have your good days and your bad days – just remember this won’t last forever.
